Permanent Escape And Rescue Ladder

History of PEARL® Protected

In a tranquil neighborhood in Long Island, NY, Harold Jacobson was enjoying his retirement years with his wife. That tranquility, however, was shattered one night when tragedy struck just a few houses away. A house fire took the lives of two small children.

Greatly affected by these events, Harold, a creative inventor of many products over the years, declared “never again!” and he set out to devise a safe, reliable way for everyone, young and old, to escape a house fire or other serious emergency. This product would have to be something everyone could easily use, unlike the tangled portable escape ladder that was found next to the children that died in Harold’s neighborhood.

He worked relentlessly until he finished the details on a permanently installed escape ladder that the whole family could use. He was so clear about the specifics of this new product; he patented his idea –no small feat for an individual inventor!

Harold’s wife fell ill during this time and Harold needed to focus on her. Soon after, he was approached by a team of young entrepreneurs who thought he had a great idea whose time had come. With a goal of making fire deaths a thing of the past, the PEARL Protected team set out to bring this product to life. They purchased the patent, created the product and today you can purchase Harold’s life-saving vision for your own home – and the homes of those you love.

Why should you care? Because the PEARL team firmly believes, like Harold, that it’s simply inexcusable for any person – child, adult or firefighter – to ever again perish in a house fire because they do not have a safe way out.

Like the PEARL team, you can make a difference. Join us today in our mission to make all homes safer with permanent escape ladders.
