PEARL Warranty and Liability
Warranty Highlights
After you register, the warranty covers the product for 15-years from
the date of purchase. You are required to perform annual inspections to
keep the warranty in force.
The inspection is a simple process you can do while performing practice
drills with your family. If you ever use your PEARL in an actual emergency,
please contact us with a copy of the incident report. We'll not only
send you a replacement if you need it, but we'll likely want to feature
your story.

Limited 15-Year Warranty Information
(APPLIES TO SALES IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA ONLY)
Subject to the important Disclaimers and Limitations found on pages 2
and 29 of the Installation, Use
and Safety Instructions manual, Pearl
Protected warrants to the original consumer purchaser that the PEARL ladder
will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use
and service for a period of 15 years from the date of purchase. Should
the PEARL ladder fail due to defects in material or workmanship, PEARL
Protected will replace the defective part or the entire unit at its discretion.
This warranty does not cover normal maintenance, which is the owner's
sole responsibility. At least one time per year, the ladder must
be deployed and tested as found in steps 45 and 46 outlined in the
Installation, Use and Safety Instructions manual. At the same time,
the parts must be examined for any signs of wear or fraying. As a
condition to warranty coverage, an entry is required to the log found
on page 30 of the Installation, Use and Safety Instructions manual
to indicate the date of the annual physical examination and test,
the person(s) performing the examination and test, the resulting
observations and final determination of the readiness of the ladder.
Failure to adequately perform normal maintenance may void the above
warranty.
Any improper installation of use of the ladder may void the above
warranty. This warranty does not cover damage to the PEARL escape
ladder caused by abuse, misuse, neglect, accident, improper installation,
modification or damage during shipping.
Registration must be mailed within 30 days of receipt of the unit for
warranty coverage. Please complete and mail the enclosed warranty
form.

insurance policy written through Evanston Insurance and underwritten by
Shand Morahan & Company, Inc.
Vendors Liability = Distributor and Retailer
Like all other products being sold by reputable distributors and retailers,
claims of liability arising from the distribution and/or sale of the PEARL
product should be covered by the retailer or distributor's own General
Liability policy. PEARL's Product Liability policy includes a Vendors
Liability endorsement which, if considered a covered claim, will afford
added protection to PEARL's distributors and/or retailers against Product
Liability claims made against the distributor and/or vendor so long as
the product is not altered in any way; however, this endorsement does
not provide any coverage to the vendor or distributor for claims arising
from or related to the distribution and/or sale of the PEARL product.
Installation Liability = Builder or Contractor
Like all products installed by reputable builders and contractors,
claims of liability arising from the installation of the PEARL
product should be covered by the builder and/or contractor's General
Liability insurance. If considered a covered claim, PEARL's Vendors
Liability endorsement will afford protection to the builder and/or
contractor as resellers of the product so long as the product is
installed properly and not altered in any way.
User Liability = Consumer
PEARL's Warranty and general Disclaimers found in the Instruction
and Installation Manual specifies that the PEARL product shall only be used
in the event of an emergency. If the PEARL product is deployed or used
for any other reason, and such unauthorized use results in an injury,
PEARL, as appropriate, will stand behind its Warranty and general Disclaimers
as a defense to such claims. In the event of a claim for an injury, whether
caused by an actual emergency or otherwise, PEARL is the primary insured
party and will request coverage through our Product Liability insurance
policy written through Evanston Insurance and underwritten by Shand Morahan & Company,
